Project Virķēni
A hospitality-led vision for the sensitive renewal of a historic Baltic estate.
Roundwater is developing an early hospitality vision for Virķēni Estate in northern Latvia. The project is conceived as an intimate, destination-led country house where heritage, landscape, hospitality and wellness come together.
The vision is rooted in the distinct character of the estate—its architecture, history and natural setting—and in the opportunity to create a place of lasting cultural, emotional and commercial value.

Jean-François Rondeau is a Canadian hospitality entrepreneur and the founder of Roundwater. His experience developing and operating independent restaurant and hospitality concepts informs an approach that brings creative ambition together with commercial and operational reality.
Through Roundwater, he leads the concept, positioning and creative direction of each project while assembling the specialist teams and partnerships required to bring the vision forward.
